Festival celebrating the appearance of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in 1486 in western Bengal, India. Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is in fact Sri Krishna, appearing in the guise of his devotee in order to show the humanity the proper way of chanting the mahamantram, performing devotional service, achieving Self-realization, obtaining Moksha (final liberation), and going back to Godhead! The procession going north on Telegraph Avenue begins at 1PM at the temple, and will proceed to the entrance of UC Berkeley, and then return to New Jagannath Puri temple. A full program of spiritual activities will commence, culminating with a FREE mahaprasadam (spiritual food) feast beginning at 7:45PM. The public is cordially invited. Please chant the mahamantram for world peace: HARE KRISHNA HARE KRISHNA KRISHNA KRISHNA HARE HARE HARE RAMA HARE RAMA RAMA RAMA HARE HARE
