Berkeley Marine Recruiter Office
400 to 500 veterans will be gathering at the Marine Recruiting office on Shattuk Ave in Berkeley. Our intention is to show support for our troops and disdain for "world can't wait" and "code pink" who have little respect for the troops.

Schedule:
Schedule 3/22/08
0815 - 0900 Stage at Watergate Market, 2200 Powell St. Emeryville (Watergate Towers) - a guide will be at the Shell Station at 1800 Powell - just off the freeway.
0945-1030 Staggered Departures to Marine Recruiting Office at 64 Shattuck Square. Ride Captains will determine routes
0930 -1000 Sound System set up at Recruiting Station
1000 - 1100 Riders Find Parking. Riders politely inform merchants “City Council must apologize to the Marines”.
1200 Assemble at Recruiting Office for rally and Speakers
1245 Lunch: Brown Bag or go get OUTSIDE Berkeley (suggest using the MC rotation idea - bikes 1 & 3, and the 2 & 4).
Use afternoon to relax, visit businesses, visit with each other, come by the USMC to say thanks, etc. The time
between 1330 and 1430 will also be used for other speakers if there is a need or a desire. For various reasons, we need to keep that flexible for now.
1430 Riders return (if necessary) to Recruiting Office at 64 Shattuck Square
1430 - 1445 Rally, Collect Receipts
1500 Final speakers/presentations
1600 Riders, mount up and depart - carefully - for home, for any diners, or get togethers. I'm assuming with Sunday being Easter, the bulk of our veterans and Patriots will head out. Those that wish to get together for diner or coffee and soda, please let me know at the morning staging and I'll do what I can to help.

They didn't even bother to put the address or who is sponsoring the event. It's fake.
I suggest you go mosey off in search of it.
This is a real event, but for some reason some people here refuse to accept that it's not some kind of hoax. Go to http://www.eaglesup.us/ or http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1989225/posts for a reality check.
This rally will have more pro-Marines protesters there in one day than Code Pink and World Can't Wait have mustered over the last three months combined. Kind of a sad commentary on Berkeley, isn't it? It seems the passion and numbers in the protest scene have shifted to the right-wingers.
If this rally goes unchallenged (which is what seems to be happening -- I have seen absolutely NO counter-protest organized), it will be seen as a crushing defeat for the anti-Marines forces. They'll be portrayed by the right-wing media as being unable to hold their ground even in their home base.
Make no mistake about it, the "war" over military recruiting stations is being cast as exactly that -- an actual home-front war between the far-left and the far-right over territory (and perceptions).
You'd think this would be a replay of February 12th, perhaps even bigger -- but no, it looks like WCW and Code Pink and supporters won't even take the field. (I guess without easy access to 1,000 high-school students, they didn't want to be publicly embarrassed by revealing the true extent of their small numbers of actual adult members.)
Has it really come down to this? That in the heart of Berkeley, pro-military protesters will seize control of the streets unopposed? Why isn't WCW, Code Pink, even ANSWER or any UC campus group doing something about this?
Go on, go right ahead thinking there will be no rally on Saturday, and we'll get our asses kicked on our own home turf.
I'll be there counter-protesting, but I get the feeling I'll be the only one, outnumbered 500-1.
Where will you be? Playing it safe, as usual, I suspect.
You little anachists would never subject yourselves to the communist/socialist/Islamic regimes you fawn over. There’s already countries on the planet which fit the bill, but I don’t see any of you making a beeline for the airport. You want to overthrow the U.S. government, replace it with something far worse, and inflict it on the rest of us.
There’s only one problem: We won’t cooperate.

We are 100% volunteer and depend on your participation to sustain our efforts!
