Earthpeace walkers Ruah Swennerfelt and Louis Cox are walking 1400 miles from Vancouver, B.C to San Diego. They will be walking through Santa Cruz from March 10-13. On March 11, they will be talking about the inter-relatedness of peace, justice, and a healthy planet. Their presentation includes a skit that “brings to life” an 18th-century Quaker, John Woolman, who showed that many forms of injustice, including slavery, were rooted in the pursuit of material values at the expense of spiritual well-being. Woolman foresaw that strivings after ease, luxury, and outward greatness would bring about “great injury to succeeding ages,” not only in the form of physical suffering but in terms of spiritual impoverishment for the affluent. All are welcome to a pot-luck dinnerat 6 PM and to join Ruah and Louis while walking. Call or email fo more details.
