In lieu of KPFA's lack of local news, we have decided to bring the local news to KPFA during its fund drive. KPFA's slacking on local news by having limited coverage of the longest urban tree-sit in US history at the Oak grove which is only a couple miles away on the UC Berkeley campus. Also, KPFA has failed to cover the corporatization of a public institution and has not covered the prostitution of Cal to the oil company British Petroleum, and no coverage of the planned destruction of Strawberry Canyon for the BP Helios building. There are many other local stories which KPFA chooses to ignore and/or give very little coverage on. Please join us on Thursday Feb. 14th at 2pm to bring the local news to KPFA. We will continue this presence for 4 day, Thursday-Sunday from 2pm- 8pm Let's make KPFA what it should be...

I haven't been paying much attention to KPFA News recently, so I can't pass judgment on RunningWolf's complaint. But posting stories on indybay or another web site does not make up for lack of coverage in a medium that reaches many more local people than any web site reaches, excluding perhaps classified ad sites like craigslist.
