Code Pink, Vets for Peace, WCW and Berkeley students on one side of MLK
Other side: Eagles from Littleton Co, other misguided vets.

Very spirited chanting and solidarity on our side. Youth coming out and speaking up.
Michael Lerner, Anne Wright, Medea Benjamin @ press conference.
So stop on by if you can.

NATIONALLY FOX News just reported (1:35pm) as follows:
Melanie Morgan was saying that the right wing "pro-troops" side does NOT really expect the Berkeley City Council to back down from their statement, despite the newscaster's lead-in to the story that "economic pressure will come to bear".

The newscaster asked her a couple of times, saying "are you sure, because the reports we are getting are saying that the City Council WILL yield to pressure".

Melanie (ugh) Morgan said they don't expect to achieve much and that she won't be satisfied until there are full apologies to the Marines.

KTVU-TV Channel 2 Bay Area (FOX affiliate) is providing much more balanced reporting. Good interviews showing Ann Wright (although they failed to identify her) and lots of CodePink looking good.

Raging Grannies and members of Veterans for Peace will be at Mountain View brand new Army Recruiting Station this Friday at Noon and Indybay Calendar says that WCW will be back in Berkeley all day with a special action at 3:00pm.

KPIX set up their live camera in the council where they are reviewing other city business at 5:30pm. You can hear interesting noises from the stuff outside very clearly.

It's important to let KPFA's interim program director know that listeners want to hear this sort of coverage.
