CRUDE AWAKENING
MPJC Presents
Potluck and a Movie
People ask: Are we running out of oil ? The simple answer is: Yes, we started doing that when we produced the first barrel. But Running Out is not the main issue as the resource will not be finally exhausted for very many years. The much more relevant question is: When will production reach a peak and begin to decline?
When oil depletion comes about and society breaks down, it will be unpredictable: that is the one thing that can be predicted. Nevertheless it is still worthwhile looking ahead and trying to forecast what might occur.
How should we prepare for this event, and what ramifications does this bring to the political process?
View Crude Awakening for a primer.
