The Crest Theatre. 1013 K St, Sacramento, CA.
Apprehensive Studios presents the world premiere of the feature film "Why Lie? I Need a Drink." This documentary film dares to explore the myth of the affluent panhandler. How much does a panhandler really make? Can you possibly make a living at panhandling? How much difference does having a funny sign make? Will people give money to a guy dressed in a banana suit? Find out the answers to these questions and many more at the premiere of "Why Lie? I Need a Drink." The screening is followed by a Q&A with the Director and the Producers of the film.
"Why Lie? I Need a Drink" took over three years to complete, with the majority of the film being shot on the streets and freeway off-ramps of Downtown Sacramento. While "Why Lie?" was being shot the film's Director, Keith Lowell Jensen, documented the documentary on an Internet blog. The blog became immensely popular and Jensen was flown to LA to shoot a segment for Spike TV's "Manswers," appeared on "ABC Radio," "Fark.Com," grabbed the interest of the "Jimmy Kimmel Show," "This American Life" and more.
Admission: $10.00 advance/$12.00 at the door
Advance tickets are available at http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=TDC&pid=6156981 or at The Crest.
