Perhaps the most radical film ever nominated for an Academy Award, In the Year of the Pig examines the historical roots of the Vietnam War and argues polemically for its end. The film’s political provocation roused the interest and scrutiny of FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover, who developed an extensive file on de Antonio. This screening features a recently restored print.
