February's Soap Box Lecture: Vice President, Dick Cheney
Bernal Bubbles is very pleased and honored to announce that the first speaker in their election year lecture series will be Richard Bruce "Dick" Cheney, the forty-sixth and current Vice President of the United States.
Fresh from the hospital (where he had his heart shrunk one more time) and after having won the hearts and minds of the American people (not to mention the Iraqis), "Dick" will give his farewell address to the American people at this popular San Francisco laundromat.
Says Dick, "Uh, as I leave my position at the end of this year, I leave America a better place and I, uh, leave a safer world and, uh, to those who don't believe me: I'll just have to shoot you in the face."

In reality, Dick Cheney is the infamous, Ed Holmes of the San Francisco Mime Troupe, where he created the role of the Vice President in the Troupe's most recent show "Making a Killing" and in the "Dick n' Dubya Show," a republican outreach cabaret.
Ed Holmes has been a performer in the bay area for past 34 years. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Ed came to the Bay Area after a seven year hitch in the navy. Since then he has performed with the Berkeley Mime Troupe (yes, that kind of mime), Fratelli Bologna (Commedia Del Arte), the SF Opera, Oakland Symphony, and Antenna Theater. For the past 21 years, Holmes has been a member/performer/director with the San Francisco Mime Troupe:

This year, as he has done for the past 30 years, Ed will lead the annual St. Stupid's Day Parade, thru the financial district: http://www.saintstupid.com
