KPFA "Concerned Listers Grab All Top Positions-Follow "Winner Take All" Rules
The KPFA management supported grouping "Concerned Listeners" in the recent elections for
KPFA Local Station Board officers grabbed all positions.
KPFA Local Station Board officers grabbed all positions.
KPFA management supported candidates (they like the job KPFA interim manager Lemlem Rijio is doing) grabbed all top local station board positions including Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. For all their "talk" about collaboration and having civility they used their 3 person majority to shove down all their candidates for the top positions. Only when a fairer election method was used was Joseph Wanzala elected to the Pacifica National Board with 3 other Concerned Listeners. The 13 to 10 split at the board meeting showed that the "Concerned Listeners" cabal members operate as a Democratic party type machine in supporting only their "candidates". They are still working full time to keep the present interim manager despite the fact that she refuses to even attend most Local Station Board meetings and actively intervened in the election to help the same "Concerned Listeners" slate. These same grouping with the help of former Siegel colleague Hunter Pyle sued the Pacifica Foundation to coerce the national election adivsor Casey Peters to certify the rigged election.
So much for democracy at KPFA and Pacifica.
