Iraq Moratorium – Monthly Action to Stop the War

HOLIDAY PEACE STROLL
San Mateo, Palo Alto, and San José

We will wear eye-catching tee-shirts saying "Troops Home Now!" and stroll through busy malls and shopping areas. A unique and creative opportunity to reach out to hundreds of people in the holiday season with a message about creating real peace on earth -- now!

Location details:

San Mateo - Hillsdale Mall: 31st Avenue and S. El Camino Real, San Mateo. Meet in the Bank of America parking lot, 29th and El Camino Real, San Mateo, at 6 p.m. to pick up tee-shirts. We will eat together at California Pizza Kitchen before heading into the mall. Contact for this location: Anne Carey (Declaration of Peace), abcarey [at] comcast.net, 415-238-0704.

Palo Alto - Stanford Shopping Center: Sand Hill Road and El Camino Real, Palo Alto. Gather at Peninsula Peace and Justice Center, 457 Kingsley Ave., Palo Alto, between 6 and 7 p.m. to pick up shirts -- and a bit of holiday cheer -- before we head over to the shopping center together. Contact for this location: PPJC, moratorium [at] peaceandjustice.org, 650-326-8837.

San José - Christmas in the Park: Plaza de César Chávez, Market Street between San Carlos and San Fernando, San José. Meet at 6:30 p.m. between the San José Museum of Art and the Fairmont hotel to pick up tee-shirts. We will stroll through the park with flyers and signs. Contact for this location: San José Peace Center, sjpc [at] sanjosepeace.org, 408-297-2299.

All strollers please RSVP by calling 650-326-8837 or emailing moratorium [at] peaceandjustice.org so we can have enough tee-shirts at each location. If you email, please indicate shirt size and which location you will be participating at.

This event is part of the Iraq Moratorium project, an escalating monthly series of actions demanding an end to the war. Starting on Friday, September 21 and on the third Friday of every month thereafter, people across the U.S. are taking the time to show our President and Congress that our troops must be brought home, now!

Iraq Moratorium events in the Peninsula and South Bay are coordinated by these groups: American Muslim Voice, Council of Churches of Santa Clara County, Declaration of Peace - San Mateo County, Global Peace Partners, Gold Star Families Speak Out, Green Party - Santa Clara County, Jewish Voice for Peace - South Bay, Los Altos Voices for Peace, Mountain View Voices for Peace, MoveOn District 14 Council, Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice, Pacifica Peace People, Peace Action of San Mateo County, Peace Umbrella - Unitarian Universalist Church of Palo Alto, Peninsula Peace and Justice Center, The Rebuilding Alliance, San José Peace Center, South Bay Mobilization, Veterans for Peace, Womens International League for Peace and Freedom - Peninsula Branch
