Celebrate the solstice season with The Improvisator's annual multi-instrumental show in four wonderful wine caves, as "Carols In The Caves" returns for its 22nd year in the wine country. Be transported into the ancient spirit by harps, psalteries, dulcimers, flutes, drums and more, in settings of stunning underground acoustics and nostalgic atmosphere.

The 22nd season's schedule is:
December 15 & 16 at Hans Fahden Vineyards, 4855 Petrified Forest Rd., Calistoga
December 22 & 23 at Caldwell Vineyard, 270 Kreuzer Ln., Napa
December 29 & 30 (Cave Of The Drums - for the New Year) at Clos Pegase Winery, 1060 Dunaweal Ln., Calistoga
January 5 & 6 (Cave Of The Spirits - for Twelfth Night) at Byington Winery, 21850 Bear Creek Rd., Los Gatos

Doors open one hour before the show starts. Wine is available for purchase during intermission.

In order for adults to enjoy the acoustics, children must be over the age of ten. Directions to venues are mailed with tickets and are also posted at the website.

Carols In The Caves is not a formal performance! It's a relaxing, informal gathering emphasizing good cheer and rejuvenating music. The Improvisator's interpretations of age-old carols on ancient folkloric instruments are supplemented by the merry audience's participation as angel choir. Like all Cave Music shows, it's a sound spa for the mind and an antidote for stressful times.

Why cut the holiday short? The series includes two weekends after Christmas, prolonging the season in the age-old tradition: Cave Of The Drums makes way for the New Year at the Clos Pegase cave in Calistoga; and Cave Of The Spirits draws from legends and lore of Twelfth Night at the Byington cave in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This be the merry, sacred way to end an ancient holiday!
