1520 Pacific Avenue in front of Mayor Ryan Coonerty's Bookshop Santa Cruz workplace and family business.
Sleeping Ban Foes continue their weekly tabling in front of the Coonerty business. The Human Rights Organization, HUFF (Homeless United for Friendship & Freedom) and Humanity for Homeless are rounding up plaintiffs for a planned federal lawsuit against the City's anti-homeless Sleeping Ban (MC 6.36.010a).
Coonerty has banned numerous activists from the Bookshop because of their participation in or support of this peaceful protest (hence the word "Banned") and the weather is getting colder outside, as Coonerty's Parks and Recreation Chief Ranger John Wallace continues to shred tents and destroy homeless survival gear in the Pogonip without provide any legal alternatives (hence the word "Blue").
Featured this week: a replay of Mayor Coonerty's defense of the Sleeping Ban, originally aired on Voices from the Village Live! some Sundays ago. (See http://humanityforhomeless.blogspot.com/2007/11/sleeping-ban-debate.html or http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2007/11/14/18461204.php)
