AFSCME PICKET
Thursday, December 6th
3-5pm @ Quarry Plaza

This may be the end of 2007 but it's really just the beginning of what AFSCME members and allies are willing to do to win a fair contract. We will be picketing en masse to let UC know we are here, and we are not going away until justice is done for all AFSCME workers!

Brothers and Sisters,

Statewide AFSCME picket happening tomorrow, Thursday, Dec 6th.

Statewide Picket for AFSCME's Contract Fight
Thursday, Dec 6th
3:00 - 5:00PM
UCSC Bay Tree Bookstore

Due to low wages and increasing healthcare and parking costs, many campus workers have to work 2-3 jobs just to support their families. As a result, they suffer from physical strain, time away from young children and barriers from sending their own kids to UC. Meanwhile, this negatively impacts the entire campus community and economy. We say enough!

Workers are demanding to be treated like other comparable university and hospital workers, including provisions for market rate wages, longevity salary steps and healthcare and pension protections. At the bargaining table UC management is saying they want to keep campus service and patient care workers below these standards. So it's time to put the pressure on.

Please join in force tomorrow from 3-5PM - RAIN OR SHINE!!!

in unity

On Tuesday, November 20th, in honor of Thanksgiving, hundreds of UC workers marched on top UC Leaders across the state demanding that they: “Prioritize frontline workers, not top executives.”
