Bidam (With Blood) follows ordinary people’s efforts to overcome extraordinary obstacles in pursuit of vital health care in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. Military checkpoints that lie between cities and villages prevent the movement of ambulances forcing the infirm to take treacherous bypass routes through olive groves and over rocky, mountainous terrain. Beautifully shot on location with patients, doctors, and medics, Bidam offers a view of the occupation from the perspective of Palestinians for whom freedom of movement is truly a matter of life and death.

Filmed over ten months by East Bay filmmaker Juliana Fredman and her Australian collaborator Dan O’Reilly-Row, Bidam will be showing on Wednesday November 28th at 8PM at Station 40, 3030B 16th St. @ Mission, San Francisco.
