Downtown Berkeley, Shattuck & Allston, Marines Recruiting Station

To all who believe in spreading peace through positive vibrations, please join us at Shattuck and Allston (about a block from downtown Berkeley BART) every Friday from 3 to about 5 PM. Bring your spouse/significant other/friend to makeout in front of the marine recruiting station. Code Pink protests there on Wednsedays, Middle East Childeren's Alliance is there on Thursdays, and my girlfriend and I will be out there today with a few other couples today hoping to start a weekly 'kissing protest' to help keep up the pressure on closing down the station, and present an example to would be recruits that could help persuade them not to join. The slogan is "Stay and Kiss, Don't Enlist, That Way Everybody Make's Out!", also "Don't Ship Out, Just Make Out!" If you're not comfortable kissing in public, no worries, just bring someone to hug or hold hands with or just stand around for some solidarity, bring a sign or something. Our long term goal is to function as a model for further direct action against Recruiting Stations and MEPS (Military Entrance and Processing Stations) centers. These bastions gluing the military into civilian life are a weak point in the channling of human potential into this bogus war. If congress won't act to de-fund the war, then why don't we the people act to.. de-people it.
