Access California-a day of activities for our differently abled visitors and friends. Access programs include a tactile textile tour of the History Gallery's textile collection with Curator Inez Brooks-Myers; multicultural tales by signing storytellers Diane Ferlatte and Ron Trumble; a Krip-Hip-Hop Black Blind and Blues CD workshop with Leroy Moore, tactile textiles, and other hands-on activities; spoken word by Avotcja; and a performance by Axis Dance Company, a collaboration of dancers with and without disabilities.
Senior Curator of Art René de Guzman and a panel of young Oakland arts activists “talk the talk” about the museum's role in local arts, past and future. Spotlight tours of the galleries with community leaders and museum curators, past and present. Holiday shopping at the Museum Store and Feria Urbana. Included with museum admission.
