USDA is meeting with farmers on Kentucky State University in Frankfort, KY. As of this writing, officials are trying to shove protesters to campus football stadium. Legal action pending
Harry Young is a black farmer whose land was sold in a contested auction 2 years ago. He and others say the foreclosure is part of a series of illegal land seizures affecting family farmers of all ethnicities. This is a teach in, an informational event designed to expose this atrocity in a peaceful, law abiding, constitutionally protected fashion. This will be the 3rd protest in Kentucky over this issue.

Mr. Young, you are taking a valiant stand. Certainly more "teach-ins" are needed around the country on what happened, is happening and will happen to the few Black farmers and landowners left in this country.
I wish I could be with you, but I am having my own battle here in North Carolina as the Dept. of Justice has or rather is in the process acting on a "Writ of Execution" a Writ on a "Consent Judgment" signed by my father Matthew Grant back in 1981. While, the family has proven time and time again the discriminatory practices and the racism Black farmers faced here in Halifax County, NC, it seems that there is no end to the injustices.
We have one "Final Judgment" signed by the Department of Civil Rights, before the office of Asst. Sec. for Civil Rights was created. Needless to say, the USDA did not live up to its agreement.
Our people, African American, Black, People of Color or whatever we choose to call ourselves must understand that because our history in this country is rooted in slavery does not mean that we must remain slaves for eternity. Our denial of who we are, what we are, where we have come from and those, yes there are those, left behind cannot allow a government that legislated laws to treat one people different than it did all other "immigrants=illegal immigrants" who came to this country to continue to deny us what is rightfully ours.
African Americans need to understand that the farmer and landowner are not asking for charity. They are simply demanding what it is that they have worked for. We must find an avenue to get this message out to the masses so that they will understand that a "Landless People Is A Helpless People."
If we look at the struggles around the world, they are all about who controls the land and its resources. Why are we so blind that we are willing to spend billions each year on material things that wear out but we don't want to have land in our people's possession?
My family and I offer our prayers and support for your struggle as we continue to fight for what our parents laid as a legacy for their children.

Hello to all:
The discrimination done now and in the past demands serious terms of 100 year loans so the young families can enter and survive in the business.
Mr. grant is correct regarding the power of land which feeds the powers of the world.
The one thing I question regarding materialism today is the cause/effect.Does this short term, feel good power truely address what is needed for the survival of farmers of discrimination?
I see a bunch of people with this "materislism power" if you will doing the same thing to others as was done to them from which I question can "foregivenss" truely impact enough lives so they come to understand the true gift of people like Mr. Grant is offering the future and survival of the people?
Best of Luck.
