FMLN speaker denounces El Salvador's continued presence in Iraq at SF anti-war rally
DJ rubble interviews FMLN representative Salvador Cordon in the Activist Media tent. Salvador had just finished speaking at the October 27 anti-war rally podium at Dolores Park, SF. Salvador denounced the hundreds of Salvadoran soldiers and thousands of security personnel who continue serving in Iraq, hired through private U.S. contractors. He highlights the dire economic conditions and political corruption that contribute. Money sent home from Salvadorans working abroad is the nation's largest "industry" (10 min.)
Listen now:
United For Peace and Justice organized and funded a media activist tent at the rally to facilitate interactive media with the protesters. Audio and video interviews were recorded with participants while anti-war videos were aired inside the tent, with people encouraged to be the media. Stay tuned to indybay.org for posted interviews.
