Screening and discussion of "Sentenced Home," a documentary about Cambodian Americans being deported for crimes they committed as youth and already served time for in the U.S. Caught between their tragic pasts and an uncertain future, each young man confronts a legal system that offers no second chances.
Scheduled panelists are:
- Joren Lyons, staff attorney, Asian Law Caucus
- filmmaker Nicole Newnham
- Santi Salazar, an organizer with Huaxtec and Oakland Without Borders, an immigrant rights coalition
- Many Uch, one of the men featured in the film
Admission free. Homemade Cambodian refreshments served.
