TA Union - First monthly membership meeting of the year

The UAW, the TA union here at UCSC, will have our first monthly membership meeting of the year Thursday at 11 AM in the Grad Student Commons. YOU are invited to attend!

It's been a very busy beginning of the year for our union. We just ratified a new statewide contract, after a campaign in which TAs from all over campus (and throughout the UC system) got involved, through orientations, departmental meetings, and our public statement. However, the new contract is only as strong as our ability to enforce it. What makes us strong is an active membership, including TAs from departments all over campus.

Come Thursday and help frame our plans for the year. We will be discussing the new contract, our plans and organizing for the quarter, and grievances and other contract enforcement.
