In his extraordinary series of formal studio portraits, Rafael Goldchain fills in the gaps of his family history by assuming the identities of his late ancestors with the use of theatrical costume, make-up, and props. The artist will discuss his artistic process including his careful research, period accuracy and his imaginative artistic embellishment of the past. The exhibit runs from September 9 through December 20.
