This will be the first Santa Cruz community meeting for the Iraq Moratorium national campaign. The Moratorium is not an organization, it is an escalating movement whose purpose is to bring together individuals and groups active against the war in Iraq. We seek to build unity of action and to build pressure against those responsible for this slow train wreck catastrophe. Each Third Friday of Each Month actions are held throughout the country (and in Mexico City) in the name of the Iraq Moratorium. On September 21 hundreds of events were held across the country. In the Bay Area alone, 60 events happened. On October 19 things will be bigger. Let's do it here in Santa Cruz. Visit the Moratorium website.

It's time to do more to end the war. Please join us in an Anti-Iraq-War Coalition. We will meet at the Resource Center for Nonviolence upstairs on October 10th at 7:00pm. You will find information below or check out the website at Iraq Moratorium.org. Among the signers are War Resisters League, Women in Black, Code Pink, Vets for Peace, Gold Star Families, Labor Against the War, etc. Please join us.

On the Third Friday of every month, Take Action!

The slow-motion train wreck that is the occupation of Iraq grows daily more of a nightmare. In 2006 America voted to bring it to an end. But our politicians have failed to grasp the strain on our military and the depth to which America's influence in the world has fallen. We must force them and our media to recognize just how angry America is, and how massive the anti-war sentiment in this country has become. The Iraq Moratorium will be an escalating monthly series of actions demanding an end to the war. Starting on Friday, September 21 and on the third Friday of every month thereafter, we will take the time to show our President and Congress that our troops must be brought home, now!
