A reading and discussion group led by Scott Kennedy on selections from the book "Peace, Justice, and Jews" on Four Thursdays: October 4, 11, 18 and 25. Participants are asked to purchase the book "Peace, Justice, and Jews" or the reading packet available from the Resource Center for Nonviolence. Suggested donation are $5-$20 per session. No one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Discussion will be based on the following essays:
October 4: "Ethics, Victimhood, and Power" by Ira Chernus
October 11: "Christians, Jews, & Muslims: A Personal Journey," by Scott Kennedy
October 18: "A Matter of Conscience: Militarism & Conscientious Objection in Israel," by Ruth Hiller & Sergey Sandler; "Machsomwatch: Women, Protests, & the Fight for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories," by Nura Resh
October 25: "Anti-Semitism & Zionism in the Debate on the Palestinian Issue: Personal Reflections," by Herbert Kelman.
