"It is up to US – amplify our voices for Congress to end funding for war NOW."
No, it is not up to US because the "YES Bush" trash in congress do not give a damn what "we" think and they have demonstrated that they don't care what "we" think over and over and over since 2000. They couldn't make it any clearer. Instead, they work for the bush crime family, the military industrial complex and the corporations. They do not work for us and haven't since at least 2000.
In that regard, I read this post on one of the major progressive message forum recently. It speaks to what I just said:
On another website forum I recently read a post from someone who had called John Conyers’ office.
The person in Conyers’ office told the caller that the people who show up in DC to protest do NOT represent the American people. And none of the people who protest in DC are from Conyers' district, the guy in Conyers’ office said.
Now I don’t know how this man Conyers happens to know that there is no one out there in DC protesting from Conyers' district. Surely he doesn’t go out and ask each person where they are from!
The guy in Conyers’ office also said that this view (that the people protesting in DC don’t represent the American people) is the WIDELY HELD VIEW within congress.
So, since that is the widely held view I would think that would apply also to e-mails, phone calls, faxes and visits that people "we" make to these people’s office in congress. Why wouldn’t it apply to these other ways of contacting the people in congress as well?
In other words, these people in congress don’t care what "we" think. Some of us already knew that.
