A fundraising luncheon is scheduled in Mill Valley Sept. 16 to benefit the Peace Alliance, a national organization seeking establishment of a U.S. Department of Peace and NonViolence.
The Peace Alliance is a non-partisan citizens' organization, begun in 2004, working for adoption of House Resolution 808, which calls for a cabinet-level peace department.
Speakers at the luncheon will include Dot Maver, executive director, and Lynn McMullin, national campaign coordinator of the Peace Alliance. The free lunch will be held at noon
Attendees are expected across the Bay Area, according to spokesperson Sarah Mills.
