Bring Democracy Home: Election Reforms That Empower Voters
Five leading election reform activists will present their approaches to improving elections in a public forum on Saturday, September 15, at 7:00pm at the College of Marin.
The forum is titled “Bring Democracy Home: Election Reforms That Empower Voters”. The issues discussed will include integrity of election administration; fair representation and instant runoff voting; ballot access; media coverage and access to debates; and campaign finance reform.
The panelists are:
- Sherry Healy, Co-Founder of the California Election Protection Network
- Steven Hill, Director of the Political Reform Program, New America Foundation, and author of Ten Steps to Repair American Democracy
- Danny Medress, Field Organizer with the California Clean Money Campaign
- Peter Phillips, Professor of Sociology at Sonoma State University and Director of Project Censored
- Richard Winger, Editor of Ballot Access News
This panel will be moderated by Laura Wells, candidate for State Controller in 2006.
