TV's Pete Giddings Back in the Bay Area - Independently!

by Soren Castenada (sfsunsetlocal [at] hotmail.com)
Emmy Award-Winning television meteorologist, Pete Giddings, is back to forecasting San Francisco Bay Area weather... But he's no longer affiliated with a TV network. Rather he has taken his forecasts online. He does audio forecasts for all the regions of the Bay Area for FREE and without any ads (for now). Check it out at, www.PeteGiddingsWeather.com.
Independent Weather forecasting for the SF Bay Area Pete Giddings, weatherman on San Francisco's KGO-TV for 30 years, is back in the Bay Area media scene... But now he's an independent! www.petegiddingsweather.com I just found his new website, where he does free, no-advertising, audio forecasts for each section of the Bay Area. The guy still looks exactly the same - which makes you wonder why online instead of "On Air," but his site is way easier to navigate than a TV newscast! Plus, you know it's free of conglamerate gate-keeping - he does all the forecasts on his own! Also on his site, Giddings writes a blog where he addresses climate change issues and answers a lot of fan responses. It's great to have Pete back in the Bay Area and back in the public forum.

Still miss Pete Giddings. His forecasts were always on the nose, he's funny, and has a great personality. Can't stand Spencer Christian, the "oenophile" who mispronounces enlongated (sic).
