Co-sponsored with the Peninsula branch of the World Affairs Council, the Palo Alto League of Women Voters will host two prominent experts on immigration law for their Fall Kick-Off Meeting. Jayashri Srikantiah has litigated extensively on behalf of immigrants, challenged mandatory and indefinite detention policies in the federal courts, and represented human trafficking survivors. She will be speaking on federal immigration policy and proposed reforms. Alberto Diaz-Cayeros will provide a socio-economic profile of migrants in the US and elaborate on the causes and consequences of migration, primarily from the point of view of the sending country.
