The FiftyCrows Gallery located at 49 Geary Street is pleased to announce the exhibit Women Empowered: Inspiring Change in the Emerging World, by award-winning photographer Phil Borges.
Women Empowered focuses on women in developing countries who have broken through the barriers of convention and oppression to improve their own well-being and the well-being of their communities.
The photographs and stories shed light on specific gender issues worldwide and the struggles of women in developing countries to achieve gender equality.
FiftyCrows will host an opening reception and book signing with the artist on Friday, September 14th from 4:30 pm to 8 pm.
This event, sponsored by CARE, LiveBooks, and Kingston Technologies, is open to the public, wheelchair accessible and admission is free.
