A highly acclaimed film, “TRANSFORMER” is a journey into the subjective and conceptual worlds of German artist Joseph Beuys. The film draws on Beuys’ iconoclastic and controversial oeuvre spanning the twentieth century, to motivate social awareness and creative responsibility.
The screening will be held in conversation with director John Halpern, whose work models innovation in aesthetic and cross-cultural representation. Halpern’s films include “REFUGE”, a portrayal of contemporary North-South/East-West histories of Buddhism.
