COPS, "GANGS" AND RACIST PROFILING
A recently released report shows that fewer youths are gang members than 30 years ago, gang membership does not drive crime rates, and moreover, more whites than African Americans are gang members. Despite these facts, billions of dollars continue to fund “gang suppression” in the Black, Latino and other communities -- profiling, targeting and incarcerating working class youth and terrorizing the community. Hear a report about the role of the media, the cops and the politicians in perpetuating this racist repression, and the fight against it.
APPEAL HEARING FOR THE CUBAN 5
Five Cuban political prisoners continue to be held in U.S. jails for trying to stop U.S.-based terrorism against Cuba. An international struggle is being waged to win their freedom and hold the U.S. accountable for promoting terrorism agianst Cuba. Hear an eyewitness report back from the Aug. 20 appeal hearing in Atlanta for these five heroes.
