Sewer board to discuss service rates, penalties

Novato Sanitary District officials will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday to discuss sewage disposal service rates and enforcement penalties.

The board also will hold a hearing on its 2007-08 sewer service charge report.

The meeting will take place at the district office at 500 Davidson St. in Novato. For more information, call 892-1694.

The Novato Sanitary District's board will consider an increase in sewer service charges for nonresidential customers

Nonresidential charges would increase for each of the next three years in proportion to new residential charges.

"The changes are designed to reallocate the charges among nonresidential customers to more accurately reflect the cost of service," the district said. "Individual charges might be significantly higher or lower than current charges due to the change in calculation method."
