fixedground.jpg Join us in a Bay Area celebration and fundraiser for one of New Orleans' most important grassroots organizations, The Common Ground Collective. "Broken Ground" features a wide array of local hip-hop acts, such as DJ Raasan Ahmad of Crown City Rockers and Kiwi from Native Guns, slam poetry champions from UC Davis, Berkeley and Youth Speaks, and a live jazz quartet. "Broken Ground" will be held at the Mission Cultural Center (2868 Mission Street in San Francisco) on August 15th. Tickets will be $12 at the door. This event is meant to heighten awareness of the current state of the Gulf Coast as we approach the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, and will be a great chance for people of all ages to experience rising local talent while supporting community rebuilding. Bring your family, friends, and get your groove on! For more information, please visit www.commongroundrelief.org, www.missionculturalcenter.org
