“HEALING OUR HEALTH CARE SYSTEM:
A MORAL & ECONOMIC IMPERATIVE”
FREE
When it comes to the American health care system, there's agreement on one thing: it's broken. Despite spending twice as much as other developed nations on health care and leaving 47 million people entirely uninsured, the U.S. rates #37 in quality of care. This panel will discuss how publicly funded (single payer) health care would both save money and provide high-quality, comprehensive care for everybody.
- “The Healthcare Solution: California OneCare” by Emmy award-winning documentary filmmaker Don Schroeder.
- Find out about the OneCareNOW Campaign, developing a mass movement demanding a health care system that works.
- Hear how corporate health care drives prices UP instead of down and drives doctors and patients alike crazy— and bankrupt.
-Learn how SB 840 will give all Californians true health security and economic stability.
-Discover what you can do to help.
Panelists
Esther Wanning, Director of Health Care for All-Marin and founding member of Health Care for All-CA, which advocates for a single-payer system. She is also a Marriage and Family Therapist.
Greg Brockbank, J.D., Co-Director of Health Care for All-Marin, Chair of the Democratic Central Committee of Marin, Trustee of the College of Marin, and coordinator of the Marin Clean Money campaign.
Joan Holtzman, Ph.D. in philosophy; ethicist; has taught physicians for whom the current health care system presents enormous ethical problems. Directed Center for Economic Conversion.
