Please find enclosed information about the launch party for the Human Rights Watch Bay Area Network for consideration for inclusion in the events calendar.
Who: Anyone who is interested in becoming active locally to support the protection of human rights for people around the world.
What: Launch party for the HRW Bay Area Network – a group of students, activists, lawyers, writers, teachers, non-profit workers and business folks – who volunteer to improve and protect human rights at home and abroad through education, research and advocacy. The launch party will be an evening of drinks, food, music and discussion.
Where: Skylark Bar, 3089 16th Street @ Valencia (1 block from 16th Street Station BART)
When: Saturday, August 18, 2007, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Why: The party will give individuals interested in human rights an opportunity to find out how to get involved locally and meet current members of the Network.
This event is FREE and open to the public. Human Rights Watch will provide appetizers from a local restaurant and drink specials.
