Leslie Angeline who recently returned from a Global Exchange peace delegation to Iran, decided to go on a hunger strike after hearing Senator Joe Lieberman's belligerent stance regarding Iran. "I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq," he said on CBS. He went on to say that he "believes that the security and stability of the world are threatened by Iran's program to develop nuclear weapons." While on her 22nd day of a hunger strike, she attempted to meet with the Senator, his office called the police, who in turn arrested Leslie. On on her 24th day she was granted a meeting with the Senator.
