SAVE THE LARK!
Lark Theater is Nearly Out of the Dark
The Lark Theater management announces that we closed escrow on the theater building on Thursday June 14 by getting a short term bridge loan. This means we own the building. However, in order to get an affordable mortgage , we need to raise additional funds of at least $70,000.
According to Bernice Baeza, Executive Director. "Now we just need to raise these final dollars to meet our first fundraising goal by July 14. We are almost there, the community has been very supportive and the monies have been coming in, but we are not out of the dark until we complete this final fundraising push. Every contribution counts"
A month ago we were looking at raising $400,000 and now after 500 people responded with donations ranging from $5 to $100,000, we are at the final $70,000.
That is a remarkable achievement and shows how dedicated volunteers and community can come together and get the job done. Now all we need is for that level of response to continue over the next three weeks.
To donate or for additional information, call 924-5111, or email info [at] larktheater.net.
Checks can be mailed to: POB 685, Larkspur, CA 94977 or dropped off at the theater at 549 Magnolia Ave in historic downtown Larkspur.
Thank you to all the wonderful donors who want the theater to remain a significant cultural asset for Marin County.
