The Uhuru Solidarity Movement, in conjunction with the Uhuru African Liberation Solidarity Campaign, will hold a rally tomorrow to build the July 26th event, "The Truth About Darfur and the Struggle for African Liberation" taking place at 7pm at 2273 Telegraph Ave in Oakland and featuring Chairman
Omali Yeshitela, leader and founder of the Uhuru Movement and a multimedia presentation by Penny Hess.
Africa's largest country is a focal point for today's scramble for Africa. Sudan is rich in oil, gold, gas and uranium, yet the people are poor and starving. Neither U.S. intervention nor charity is the solution! African people must control their own resources! Support the struggle for African liberation.
We will look at a 10 minute video produced by Refugees International that calls for charity and US intervention as the solution to the crisis in Darfur. We will present a critique and engage in discussion about charity versus solidarity with African liberation.
