Students fast for Immigration reform and to support the DREAM act!

My name is Brenda, I am one a youth organizers at
UC Berkeley RISE (Rising Immigrant Scholars through Education). I am also
part of the CA Dream DREAM Team, a statewide effort to organize
university AB540 students across the state. As was
mentioned yesterday, we are organizing a "Student Fast for Immigration
Reform" in collaboration with university students across the state. There
will be a week-long fast in front of Nancy Pelosi's office
from July 2nd- July 9th as well as a caravan coming up state and picking up
other individuals fasting to join the San Francisco fast.

We need your
help!

Because we are a student group and not a community group our
outreach and connections are very limited. We need the support of the
community to make this fast a success and to send a clear and loud
message: we need a comprehensive immigration reform!

How can you help?

1.Come to an organizing meeting today June 20th 2424 Haste St. Apt.
C-12Berkeley, CA 94704. 510-684-2225. @ 7pm .

2.Can you commit to taking part in the week-long fast from July 2nd –July
9th?

3.Can you provide materials that will educate the public about immigrant
issues?

4.Can you be a speaker? Or know of people such as community leaders,
elected officials, or parents that would like to speak in the daily
program? [tentative program is attached]

5.Can your organization endorse the fast? [flyer is attached]

6.Can you help with the media outreach?

7.Can you help by providing medical attention to the people who are
fasting? Or know of someone that can?

8.Can you help us posting, distributing, or e-mailing the flyers?

9.Do you have access to amplified sound equipment such as speakers,
microphones?
