From East Palo Alto to Wealthy Palo Alto...
MARCH OUT OF POVERTY!

Janitors & Other Silicon Valley Service Workers Don’t Need Pennies…they Need a REAL RAISE to Support Families!

While high-tech has re-bounded, those who cook, clean, and provide security for the industry are moving further into poverty and are barely able to put food on the table. The gapbetween the high-tech economy and the low-wage service economy is growing, and janitors represent that expanding divide, taking home only about $1600 per month. That’s not enough to provide a decent home, support our kids’ education, or even buy a computer. AFor many service workers wages have stagnated, and over the last 7 years, janitors' yearly income has increased by only $4,800.

On June 15th, International Justice for Janitors Day, janitors, food-service workers, security officers, and other low-wage workers will march from East Palo Alto to Palo Alto to symbolize the divide between rich and poor. We are all gearing up for contract fights and organizing drives and would like you to join our growing movement and help us not only move forward, but March Out of Poverty!

Stand up for all Silicon Valley workers and join us for this kick-off event!
