Apparently KZSC is being sponsored by toyota and urban outfitters, who are teaming up to "free yr radio" or something.
Free in-store show this friday night!!
Maybe a little culture-jam or a friendly reminder that our radio has already been freed would be appropriate? maybe we can get toyota to sponsor *more* local radio takeovers? maybe we convince urban outfitters to let us exhort the assembled crowd of music fans (Rogue Wave and Spurgeon are playing) to go FREE KSCO after the concert?
I'm a KZSC listener and supporter, but their underwriters annoy the piss out of me and all this "free" radio co-opting is getting old. the ad execs need a new catch phrase. I think Santa Cruz is the town to remind 'em? or at the very least to overwhelm their 'e-ticket only' system and make a corporate event into a mandatory street party with everyone dressed in their new urban snoutfitters best...
