Emilio Tojín López - in conversation
The Association for Justice and Reconciliation (AJR), an organization of witnesses from 22 indigenous communities in Guatemala, has brought criminal charges in Guatemalan courts against former military leaders for genocide and other crimes committed against Mayan communities in the early 1980s. Emilio Tojín López will speak about the AJR's legal strategies and to recent developments in domestic and international cases.
Emilio Tojín López works with the Association for Justice and Reconciliation in Guatemala. A community leader and an advocate for human rights, Mr. López's work challenges state violence, seeking restorative justice for affected communities.
