MARCH FOR JUSTICE FOR WOODFIN WORKERS!
Tuesday, April 10
Speak-out, 5 pm March 6 pm
Meet at Emeryville City Hall (1330 Park Ave. at Hollis)
March to the Woodfin Suites (5800 Shellmound St. at Powell)
Ten days before Christmas, the Woodfin Suites Hotel in Emeryville fired 21 workers who stood up for their rights under Measure C, a local living wage ordinance. Workers are back on the job under a temporary court order, but the Woodfin is still seeking to fire them, and has failed to pay more than $200,000 in back wages owed to housekeepers. Come march through Emeryville- and show the Woodfin that our community will stand with the workers until justice is won.
Sponsored by the East Bay Interfaith Committee for Worker Justice
Co-sponsored by the East Bay Alliance for a Sustainable Economy For more info, see http://www.workingeastbay.org or contact Kristi Laughlin at (510) 682-4302.
