On the 4th anniversary of the war, weekday protests continued in San Francisco with multiple Die-in actions along Market Street at UN Plaza, Powell, Montgomery, Spear, etc. Among those taking it to the streets were Daniel Ellsberg, Starhawk, a nun, members of Jewish Voice for Peace, Brass Liberation Orchestra, many seniors, and a wide variety of dissenting citizens...
In the most central action at the Montgomery intersection, traffic was blocked for nearly 2 hours while a large group of roughly 50 or more took the die-in to the streets and were then surrounded and arrested one by one, while the crowds around them cheered and chanted, "Stop The War NOW!" and "Thank you!" . And a few for those making the arrests, "How many corporate criminals have you arrested today?", "Let them go!", "Did you know you're working for Chevron?"
As the last arrests were being processed at Montgomery, a march went up towards Powell and more actions took to the streets with another ( 2 or 3 ) rounds of arrests.
Total number of arrests not yet known.
