Phyllis Bennis is Cofounder of US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation; author of "Calling the Shots: How Washington dominates Today's UN" and Featured speaker at the Jewish Voice for Peace Conference in Oakland April 28-29, on the theme "The United States' role in Israel/Palestine, the influence of the pro-Israel lobbies." Bennis is an Institute for Policy Studies Fellow focusing on the New Internationalism: The Middle East & United Nations Affairs. She has worked to end the U.S. war and occupation in Iraq, and supports a just and comprehensive peace based on an end to Israeli occupation of Palestine. She works closely with the United for Peace and Justice anti-war coalition, and has played an active role in the growing global peace movement.
