Activist incarcerated in Humboldt County jail for climbing on William Mckinley statue
An activist was arrested in the Arcata Plaza during a Food not Bombs serving on or about February 7, after climbing on the statue of William McKinley and alledgedly writing on it. Mckinley overthrew the Sovereign Queen of Hawaii, and, in the Spanish-American war, took over Puerto Rico, Cuba and the Phillipines, eventually resulting in the deaths of 400,000 filipinos killed for opposing the American occupation in rebellion. A grisly historical photograph shows american troops standing by a giant mound of human skulls.
Geronimo Garcia was denied release by a judge, and his next court date is on Feb. 21st. He was beaten by the police/sheriffs on arrival at the jail.

thanks for posting this...
it is sorrowful to hear that Geronimo is again suffering at the hands of the pigs, but he is strong and i know he can handle whatever the fucking pigs might throw at him. What stupid jerks. I don't care if he did write on the stupid statue - whatever kind of vandalism that might be, it is nothing compared to the hideousness of the statue of a mass murderer in the middle of the plaza!
As is usual, the cops align themselvews with MONEY, and not with RIGHTNESS. Stupid pigs - one day they will learn not to eat shit.

Rodney Coronado had the right idea! Burn their goddamn cars!
The Arcata cops were always pigs hiding behind that liberal mask of so-called protection of the people. They are nothing but sad cases with an inferority complex that vents itself in hatred toward the poorest and the weakest members of society.
When I first came to Arcata in l971 the Plaza was the coolest place on the North Coast. They have turned the little park into a concentration camp.
They will always be bitter, hate-filled pigs who love their sick uniforms and their stupid guns. They are ugly, dispicable oppressors and someday they need to be locked up in their own jails!
