Richard Pryor, Black Saint & Griot (1940–2005) Richard Pryor was the Black person's comedian. More than Cosby or Flip Wilson or anybody else, he got us to laugh at ourselves, at our pain and our realities. We value him as a revolutionary in his craft. As Black saint and griot he still has us doubled over in laughter. He got real and kept the standard for keeping it real. He shared with the world to face hard truths in the most public of confessionals. We will screen videos that comprise of The Wit, Wisdom and Life of Richard Pryor. There will be plenty of socializing and discussion afterwards.
