Army says medic willing to plead guilty to AWOL
WÜRZBURG, Germany — An Army medic who last fall refused to deploy to Iraq for a second tour is willing to plead guilty to being absent without leave, but not to a more serious charge of desertion, the Army said Monday.
Lawyers for Spc. Agustin Aguayo, a medic with the 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry Regiment in Schweinfurt, Germany, also indicated in court documents that the soldier would plead guilty to the charge of missing movement, according to an Army news release.
