Come to an organizing meeting for the Oakland Campaign to End the
Death Penalty chapter. We will discuss updates around the Kevin
Cooper case, recent lethal injection decisions and making plans for upcoming spring events.

On January 9 we had 75 supporters of Kevin Cooper pack into the San Francisco District Courthouse to hear oral arguments about why he
deserves a new trial. Despite our efforts the judges, who were not
even physically in attendance, seemed to brush over the evidence that
Kevin is an innocent man. We will be talking about next steps on our
side to help fight for Kevin's life and other ideas for building a
struggle around the death penalty. Now that California has a
moratorium on executions it is even more critical that we step up our
fight to keep the death penalty from ever coming back. Join us for
updates and discussions. All are welcome!
